Jump!

I put this together a while ago but thought I'd upload it on this new site I just discovered. Gamevee.com allows you to upload fairly high-res videos and there is also some very cool technology that allows you to upload saved Halo 3 films from Bungie's servers. Check it out!

Half Blood Prince Teaser Trailer

Wow totally forgot this film was coming out so soon. I expected a trailer much earlier than this, but I guess it would have been overshadowed by some of the films that have been coming out in the last couple of months. This movie looks like it's going to be really good though, I definitely feel like it's going to capture the dark tone of the book.

Check it out!

Water Powered Car

I don't care how small this thing is or how silly it looks, I'm all for it as long as it makes my wallet fatter.

It's alive!!

What an interesting art medium. I for one would probably freak out if I saw something like that on the street, especially at night.

Check out his other creations.

What an incredibly powerful testimony from Greg Laurie only days after losing his eldest son to a tragic car accident. Please Watch

Pixar's Next

Pixar has released a new short clip from their next venture dubbed "Up", directed by Pete Docter. Of course Pixar has an incredible pedigree and I expect nothing less than pure awesomeness from this film. "Up" is going to be released in the US on May 29th 2009.

Geometry Wars 2

The first Geometry Wars was really the first game that I spent a lot of time with after I purchased my Xbox 360, and it wasn't because there weren't any other games to play. It was because of it's addicting pick up and play game play mechanics. I really hope the sequel is just as good.

Sony Press Conference

Sony just wrapped up their press conference for today and I have to admit that theirs was definitely the weakest of the trio. They spent most of their time talking about previous announcements in more depth. I will give kudos to them however for their clever graph presentation via the use of Little Big Planet. Other than that Sony really didn’t have much going for them this year. There were no big Home announcements and no megatons or bombshells to be seen. They did show a pre-rendered cinematic for God Of War 3 and a cinematic for an MMO shooter called MAG (Massive Action Game). The concept for MAG is interesting but they’re probably really far from being able to show off anything. They are just so far behind Microsoft when it comes to their network, a point that was made dreadfully apparent when they spent 15 minutes demoing their new video store.

Nintendo Press Conference

I'm a little disappointed with Nintendo's keynote this year. The announcement of Animal Crossing for the Wii was a welcome one, along with the new Wii motion add-on and Wii Sports: Resort. The sword fighting and precise controls will make it a must buy for any Wii owners. But there weren't any big franchise announcements. I'm not sure about Wii music either, it looks like it could be fun but there are so many music games out on the market today I just wonder if it will be different enough to compete with the competition.

E3 Microsoft Conference Thoughts

Well I just finished watching the press conference and I thought it was pretty good, but it wasn't amazing. I was really hoping for some new game announcements and some info on what Bungie is up to, although there are some rumors about a big Bungie announcement on Wednesday (crosses fingers). I think the new live interface is brilliant and will give Playstation Home a run for its money. It really is amazing what they can do with a software update. The netflix partnership was not a huge surprise but definitely a welcome one. I think the biggest news overall was that Square is bringing the next Final Fantasy to the 360. Very big news indeed.

Other mentionables.

Fallout 3 is looking fantastic.
Fable 2's online is going to be epic.
Speaking of Epic, GOW2 is looking really good.
Resident Evil 5 online co-op!
Banjo Kazooie!

E3 2008 Microsoft Press Conference

The E3 2008 Microsoft Press Conference should be starting today at around 1:30 PM my time (EST). I'm really looking forward to some new announcements and confirmation of some rumors. I'm also looking forward to Sony and Nintendo's conferences tomorrow. You can watch them streaming live at these links.

Just having some fun taking screen shots with the wow model viewer program. Yeah I know, I'm a total geek.

The Force Unleashed

This trailer has got me really excited for this game. It looks like the story alone could rival that of the prequel films and the game is using some pretty groundbreaking technology. I absolutely loved the Jedi Knight series specifically Jedi Knight II and this looks like it's going to be along the same lines. Enjoy!

Why is the rum gone?

I love these remixes.

Collage

So I haven't really been painting lately but I've recently rediscovered a new facet of art that I've sort of toyed around with in the past. Using stock images and some of my own I've been working on photo collages and it has been a blast. Here are some of my personal favorites so far.

The Modern Church

I think it’s so awesome that in this day and age I can not only watch my home church’s service on the internet but I can also watch church services across the country from my home. On Saturday evening I usually either go to my home church or watch it on the internet, Sunday morning I usually listen to Jon Courson’s message and then after that I watch Pastor Greg Laurie in Southern California. Then around 6:05 PM I tune it to our local college age ministry called Fusion. It’s a huge blessing to be able to do this and one that really turns Sunday into a sort of vacation from the rest of the week.

And of course if I miss any of the live broadcasts I can always download the services as a podcast through iTunes.

A slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

It’s that time of year here in Florida where we expect the daily afternoon thunderstorms. They are actually one of the few things that I really enjoy about the weather during the summer here. Of course it can be a pain sometimes especially when you’re driving or working outside, but the rain is awesome and as long as the storm doesn’t take out my network card again it doesn’t bother me. In fact it gives me a reason to turn the computer off and enjoy the incredible phenomenon known as lightning and thunder.

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

I'm a huge Miyazaki-san fan and Studio Ghibli fan and I absolutely cannot wait for his next film "Ponyo" to come out. It's being released in Japan this month but unfortunately it's going to be a long time before we see a localized version here in the states. Nevertheless this film looks awesome and early reviews have been extremely positive. This new trailer/TV spot really got me excited! Who says that traditional animation is dead?

Awesome Videos

This man is not only extremely talented with mixing music, but he also has a great knack for video editing. His other stuff is really good too but I think these two videos are his best. Enjoy! And please leave him some reviews or subscribe to his profile Here

Why Pixar is made of 100% win

Since the debut of Toy Story in 1995 Pixar has quickly become the staple mark of animated films by not only setting the bar, but by introducing an entirely new way of making films. What is it that makes Pixar different? Well honestly you can’t just pin their success on one or two things. It’s their whole way of thinking that sets them apart. Here’s just ten things that I could think of that sets them apart from other studios (in no particular order).

  1. Pixar’s films rely solely on telling a fantastic story that resonates with a wholesome moral message.

  2. Pixar does not rely on cheap humor to coax the audience into laughter (dreamworks anyone?).

  3. Unlike the majority of film studios Pixar is run by artists not business men in suits who rely on a formulatic method of film making.

  4. Pixar’s employees are their own worst critics. If they’re not satisfied with something, then it belongs on the cutting room floor.

  5. They’re not afraid of improv or script rewriting refinement. This is one of the areas where the advantages of a CG animated film become clear. Once you’re done filming a live action film it’s tough to change anything and always costs more money to film additional scenes. Whereas things can be changed and refined almost up until the end of production when it’s all on a computer.

  6. The employees over at Pixar are not only big fans of Hayao Miyazaki-san, but when they’re frustrated they watch his films for inspiration.

  7. They have no problem casting unknown voice actors. This is in great contrast to their competitors who strive to get as many big names as possible. Who may possibly be better actors than they are voice actors (huge difference!).

  8. Pixar films do not use animation as a genre; rather animation is the medium for the story telling.

  9. John Ratzenberger. Enough said.

  10. The ritualistic short films before the movies are always entertaining and most of the time are better than a majority of full length non-pixar animated films.
